HTC One X case: Clear hard shell gets some forum love
We know, we know. You folks are chomping at the bit -- especially here in the U.S. -- to get your hands on an HTC One X. (We've still got a couple weeks before it drops on AT&T here.) But for the moment, let's talk about the HTC One X case.
We've already given you a little preview of HTC's own slim case. (Actually, that's us calling it a "slim case." HTC didn't even have a name for it yet when we saw it last week.) It's a really thin plastic deal that snaps onto the phone, offering some pretty basic protection. We've seen two versions -- one with a series of circles, and another that kind of looks like window blinds. The idea was that HTC didn't want to break up the underlying look and feel of the device. But while the cases certainly are slim (and they do fit very nicely), the designs are a bit on the extreme side. We'll just have to see how popular they are when they're finally made available. (And, no, we don't know when that will be.)
And we've done a full-blown review of the HTC One X Hard Shell Case with a flip stand.
But now we're getting another look at a new case -- and one that definitely lets the design of the phone shine through. Chrisjcks has posted a series of pics in our HTC One X forums showing the phone in the official HTC clear hard shell case. No crazy designs this time, just some pretty basic protection that still lets the polycarbonate shell of the phone show through. One piece of bad news is that it looks like the charging contacts are covered, which means you'll need to remove the case to use the phone in one of HTC's docks. (The crazy-designed cases we played with last week will actually work with the docks -- no removal required.)
Check out more pics and full rundown in our HTC One X forums!

Box releases new API for developers, announces 15 more OneCloud apps
It's been quite a week for cloud storage, with Dropbox rolling out a significant new update, Microsoft's SkyDrive getting a new Windows Phone app, and Google Drive making its long-awaited debut. Now Box is getting in on the act, announcing the release of a brand new API that is says makes it easier than ever for developers to integrate the Box platform into their products. Along with it, the company has also announced 15 more Box OneCloud apps for iOS devices, and teamed up with the NYC-based General Assembly and TechStars in an effort to "drive innovation in enterprise software." You can get a quick rundown of the new API in the video after the break, and find all the details on how to get started with it at the links below.

Griffin outs SmartTalk Solar helps you drive off that moon tan
Griffin is launching the SmartTalk Solar, a hands-free speakerphone for the car that draws its energy from that orange glowing thing in the sky. A transparent sled with suction cups sticks it to your windshield, connecting to any Bluetooth-enabled cellphone you have on your person. Calls are answered at the push of a button and it'll also act as a microphone for your voice dialing or Siri-based shenanigans. If you're planning a intra-state road-trip, you'll be able to access the company's DriveSafe app, which offers up information about local distracted driving laws to ensure you don't get pulled over by a state trooper. It's available for $70 from today and we've got a beauty shot of the device out of its natural environment after the break.

George Zimmerman Raises $200K For Legal Defense
George Zimmerman, the former neighborhood watch volunteer accused of murdering Trayvon Martin, has raised at least $200,000 online to fund his defense.
Donors contributed "just over $200,000" on a website to help pay for the defense of Zimmerman, who was released on bail earlier this week, his lawyer said.
Mark O'Mara added that the site, therealgeorgezimmerman (dot) com, has since been shut down for unknown reasons and Zimmerman remains in hiding.
Zimmerman is living in an undisclosed location as he awaits trial on charges of second-degree murder in the February shooting death of Trayvon Martin.
The killing, which took place as Martin walked unarmed through a gated community in the central Florida town of Sanford, has gained national attention.
Zimmerman has pleaded not guilty and says he killed Martin in self defense. In a stunning move, he apologized to Martin's family at his bail hearing.
The sensational case has prompted civil rights protests and a national debate over guns, self-defense laws, racial profiling and media bias in America.
O'Mara told CNN that he would inform the judge in the case of the funds he has raised on Friday. No date has been set for his official arraignment.
